Producers Database (PDB) Report and Queries

Cratchit-NET® is your portal to the power of the Producers Database ( PDB ). The PDB is owned and maintained by the National Insurance Producers Registry ( NIPR ). It is a consolidation of the databases of the participating states.

Using the PDB, the user can produce a complete and comprehensive report of the addresses, licenses, appointments, lines and RIRS actions for an agent or a firm. Firms include agencies as well as providers (carriers). In addition, the PDB can provide you with RIRS actions, which are actions taken against an individual or organization, by a regulating or governing body.

In addition to the standard reports, Systeme can obtain specialized reports from the PDB. CAR (Carrier Agent Report) and CARR (Company Appointment Reconciliation Report ) reports provide all of the appointees for the specified carrier in the specified state. Each carrier/state combination is considered a separate report. Each CAR or CARR report costs $50, regardless of the size of the report returned. If no data is returned no fee is charged.

CARR reports have one additional feature that may come in handy: the ability to terminate appointees without knowing all the necessary information to complete an online transaction. These transactions are processed directly through the NIPR gateway and are charged to your account as normal transactions would be, including applicable state fees and prepayment charges. This functionality is useful when the client has a large quantity of terminations to process. In addition, CARR reports can be helpful during Market Conduct Exams performed by states.
